“Mum, do you know what jazz music is?” “Dad, did Africans invent Jazz?” “Teacher, what makes Jazz different from Polka?” “Where does Jazz come from and what is it in nowadays? Is Jazz music dedicated to a gourmet or snob?” How is jazz music similar/different from other styles of music: classics, pop or polka?”

“DixXband” will answer to many of these and even more unexpected questions. It has arranged an educational and entertaining program for students, called “From JAZZ to ROCK“, which invites the young listeners to discover the world of jazz music, to widen one’s horizon, express oneself, enjoy and experience the joy of improvisation! According to the age of audience, the members of „DixXband“shall simply and clearly get you acquainted with the origins of Jazz, its branches and styles. They will eagerly share the knowledge about this music genre and its position in the modern society. The students are very welcome to become the participants and creators of this project! 

“From JAZZ to ROCK“is a 45 minutes lasting cognitive program, during which you shall hear the classical jazz, rhythm'n'blues, Dixieland, various improvisations, Latino and POP. The young listeners will have an opportunity to become the members of the band, to play music and improvise and show their power of imagination.
